Online Couples Therapy & Counselling, Australia-wide

Can't make it to the room? Meet from home, wherever you both feel at ease. The same care and attention, just a different view.

Online relationship counselling suits couples who live outside Melbourne, travel for work, have young children or simply feel more at ease at home. Sessions follow the same structure and care as in the room in Doncaster.

Couples join from Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Perth, Adelaide, Hobart, Canberra, Darwin and regional Australia. Online sessions cover the same ground as sessions in the room: communication and conflict, trust after infidelity, intimacy, big life changes and deciding whether to stay together.

Online or in person? Online suits busy schedules, long distances, young children and partners in different places. Meeting in the room may suit you better if it is hard to find a private space at home, or if you prefer a clear break from home life. You can also mix both.

You'll need a private space, a stable internet connection and ideally headphones. If you can't find privacy at home, a parked car can work well.

You might be noticing

  • You live out of the area or travel for work

Common questions

How does online couples counselling work in Australia?

You book online, receive a secure video link and join from your computer or phone at the session time. You can sit together or join from separate locations.

Is online relationship counselling as effective as in person?

For most relationship concerns, studies and clinic evaluations suggest outcomes are broadly similar. In-person sessions may suit you better if it's hard to talk privately at home.

Can we join from different places?

Yes. Partners can join from different homes, cities or time zones within Australia.

Do you use Zoom?

Sessions use a secure telehealth video link that opens in your web browser, much like a Zoom call. You don't need to install an app or create an account.

Is online couples counselling covered by Medicare?

No. Counselling sessions are not covered by Medicare. Some private health funds cover registered counsellors under extras, so check with your fund.

Can I have individual relationship counselling online?

Yes. Individual sessions run online too, for example when your partner isn't ready to join or you want to work on a relationship pattern on your own.
